Friday night rugby is here to stay after the fixtures for the 2016 and 2017 RBS 6 Nations were announced. center_img The opening match of the 2015 Rugby World Cup at Twickenham, between England and Fiji, is also scheduled for a Friday night, September 18, 2015, but at present only Cardiff is scheduled to host Six Nations Friday night rugby. Matches between teams alternate annually on a home and away basis, so in 2016 England will host Wales on the tournament’s penultimate weekend, with the match taking place on Saturday, March 12. The opening weekend of the 2016 tournament, the first to follow the 2015 Rugby World Cup, takes place on February 6 and 7, 2016 and features a Calcutta Cup match at Murrayfield between Scotland and England. The pick of the matches on the final weekend sees England travel to France on March 19. All three matches on the concluding weekend take place on the same Saturday.
