National County Meet Reaches Phase Two

first_imgThe draw for Phase Two of the National County Sports Meet was yesterday held in Monrovia with eight teams drawn in two groups.Defending soccer champions Grand Bass County will be going against 2015 3rd place winner Lofa County in Group B in their first match.Lofa County during the group stage topped Group I ahead of Margibi and Bong counties with four points after defeating Bong and securing a point against Margibi County, while Grand Bass finished as runners-up in Group- IV with two points behind group leaders Grand Cape Mount. Group II winners, Nimba County that collected seven points out of three group matches, will play Margibi County in Group B’s second match.In Group A, Maryland County will go against Group II runners-up, Montserrado County, while Grand Cape Mount County will battle River Gee County.In the Kickball, Margibi County will go against Maryland County on Tuesday, December 20, and Grand Gedeh County will lock horns with Montserrado County in Group A matches.In Group B, Grand Bassa will take on Bong County, while defending champions Nimba County will be playing against Gbarpolu County.The draw which was held at the Sports Commission on Broad Street was attended by officials from the Ministry of Youth & Sports, county team officials and observers.The second phase is expected to kick-off on Tuesday, December 20.Share this:Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)last_img read more
