Police in New Hampshire said a “kitten” an officer tried to rescue at a parking lot Sunday turned out to be a bobcat, which then jumped onto the roof of a Burger King.Officer Matt Callahan of the Stratham Police Department was on routine patrol when he spotted the “kitten.”“It looked like a little kitten and it ran under a parked car,” Callahan told Seacoastonline. “I got out of my car to try to get it out from under the other car and it scurried off toward Burger King.”center_img As he was running after it, Callahan realized he wasn’t dealing with an ordinary cat, so he called the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department.Callahan said he stood in the drive-thru line to alert customers in case the bobcat decided to come down.Fish and Game officials soon arrived, but the bobcat did not seem to want to play nice. It was then released back into the wild.“All in a day’s work,” the Stratham Police Department posted on Facebook.In New Hampshire, bobcats are thought to have had a historic presence in the southwest corner of the state, according to New Hampshire Fish and Game Department.
